A look underneath the hood (the story behind the work).

Childhood

I grew up as the seventh of seven in a large Catholic family. Sensitive, intuitive, and carrying something I couldn't yet name. I’m gay. And for the longest time it felt like a problem that I needed to solve or an aspect of myself that I needed to overcome.

What I remember most from my childhood is the undercurrent. Never anything explicit. Just the constant, quiet sense that there was something wrong with who and what I was. Shame, guilt and fear permeated everything.

The body layer

I was born without a left pectoral muscle. For reasons that are unexplainable. Doctors kept telling me it would correct itself as I went through puberty. However it never did.

This became the physical embodiment of everything I was already feeling internally. I wasn't whole. I wasn't complete. I wasn't acceptable. So I spent years trying to hide it, shame it and outrun it. But you can't outrun the body. It catches up with you eventually.

The escape

I spent a good chunk of my teens and twenties running from myself. Living excessively. Partying at an extreme level. Creating elaborate lies about who I was interested in. Anything not to have to sit with the reality of who I actually was.

However my passion for music has been a thread that’s run throughout my life. I found solace in sound. I DJ’ed, made music and collected records obsessively before releasing my own music via independent record labels. Whilst I was losing myself in the partying, the connection and drive that I had for deep electronic music and the healing power within it was a truth that I could always return to.

The professional identity

For just over 20 years I worked in digital advertising and product management. I was good at it. I knew success. Built things. Moved things. Made things happen. But I rarely felt fulfilled. It was like I was playing a character who had it all figured out. Except I had no idea who I was underneath any of it.

The turning point came in my early thirties. A series of complex and destabilising life events cracked me open. Big red stop signs that forced me to look inward instead of outward. Time to stop running.

The learning part

Since 2017 I retrained across multiple disciplines. Nutrition. Yoga. Embodied movement. TRE. Family Constellations. And from 2022, with elders, mystics and shamanic people. There’s a different quality to the learning. More direct. More real. Apprenticeship. Wisdom that’s being passed down. Knowledge that becomes wisdom as it’s ingested. And it’s available to everyone.

I spent time in Greece, South Africa and the UK sitting with people who don’t think dogmatically. They’re people driven by truth. Traditional and indigenous wisdom, coming alive through a modern lens.

How I work

I’m able to see into and feel the places in a person that are hidden from them. Whether it’s in the mind or the body, to me it’s one system.

I understand how to sit with complexity. And to give that complexity what it needs in order for it to be able to come to the surface.

Nothing is ever taken out. Everything transforms and sits differently inside the system. Everything belongs, through the practice of acceptance.

The truth

I'm still learning. Still excavating my own stuff. Still being surprised by what I find when I look deep enough.

In 2024 I went through another incredibly painful experience that uncovered layers of wounding I thought I’d taken care of years before. It broke me and then it showed me the depth of the work that was available. It gave me direct embodied understanding of what real healing actually looks and feels like.

It’s changed me forever. It’s changed how I work and what I'm now able to offer others.

Going forward

I'm building something called Inner Cohesion. It's the modality I've created over the past few years. Developed directly from handed down wisdom, personal experience and what I’ve learnt from working with clients in a one to one setting.

It’s a platform that will explore healing through community. It’s a process that brings coherence to your inner world.

What I’m listening to

Music has always been an integral part of my life. It helps me process emotion and move through whatever complexity I’m experiencing.

I often create playlists to explore and express these moods, as I sometimes find I can communicate more powerfully through music than with words.

On occasion, I share these with clients, incorporating them into the healing process when it feels right.

I update this space with new playlists regularly, usually once a month, so feel free to check back for deep electronic sounds that may resonate with you.
