A deep dive

As a gay, empathetic and naturally intuitive person, my personal journey has been the navigation of complex patterning around guilt, shame and fear, into reconciliation and fulfilment.

I’m the youngest of 7 children and was raised in a heavily Catholic household. Throughout the course of my life, I’ve spent a long time in the underworld of self discovery and have an intimate understanding of the processes which catalyse self-acceptance and personal liberation.

I was born without a left pectoralis major muscle, affecting the strength on the left side of my body. I was told as a young teenager that this would correct itself through puberty, but it didn’t, and I suffered with prolonged and crippling body dysmorphia.

Our home environment was busy and chaotic, with siblings competing for airtime and synthesised sounds constantly blaring from my dad’s speakers. I inherited his passion for music, bought a pair of turntables in my late teens and began collecting records obsessively, eventually making my own music and releasing records on independent labels in Europe and America. This immersion into the London dance scene was my first encounter with the healing power of music and movement, which has been a continuous thread throughout the rest of my life.

I worked in the world of digital advertising and product management for over 20 years which taught me a lot about business, how the corporate world functions (doesn’t function) and how complex human systems interact with the wider systems of our society. I quickly established financial success but was always with a nagging feeling of restlessness and dissatisfaction.

After a series of complex and destabilising life events in my 30s, I decided to turn the focus inwards and started to study and understand the nature of trauma and how we are impacted energetically by the world around us, in a multitude of different ways.

This period kicked off the healing process that would become my work, the restoration of my family relationships and an attunement with the notion that I was in deep connection with something much greater than myself. I started different forms of therapy, drastically changed my lifestyle and started to search for answers in places that weren’t always corroborated by our modern scientific systems.

From 2016 onwards, I retrained in the fields of Nutrition, Yoga, Embodied Movement, TRE, Family / Systemic Constellations and I have spent extensive time studying with Shamans, Mystics and Elders to understand how to deliver indigenous and more traditional practice in a respectful and reverent way.

This focus on embodiment, somatics and energy systems has helped me to forge a deeper and more autonomous connection with my own body, which has allowed stability and balance back in through the mind / body / spirit complex.

Working in this way continues to be the foundation of my approach to client work, alongside more traditional psychotherapeutic methodology regarding the psyche, which aims to uncover how distortions within the early developmental process of mind can create complex, hidden patterning which ultimately results in rejection or non-acceptance of the self.

I use whole-bodied somatic and energetic awareness to translate the imbalances in a person’s system directly into mine and I work on what needs to be healed using a systematic and cascading process, which takes as long as it needs to take.

My ability to have fully integrated my own stories and narratives at a deep level inside myself is what enables me to be able to facilitate work at this level for others. I look upon everyone that sits in front of me with unconditional love and we work within a container of radical self-acceptance for all that arises throughout our time together.
